AWARDS AND HONORS 2006-2007

DEBBIE JOHNSON, District music teacher, played a valuable role  in providing quality professional development  for Illinois music educators at the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) All-State Conference held in Peoria in January.  Debbie has served several years on the IMEA Professional Development Committee. 

ANN BOLAND, retired bus driver and part-time employee, honored with the Citizen’s Crime Prevention award  by Quincy Exchange Club.

MADELINE SELBY, 5th grader at Baldwin South and AMY WENTURA, QJHS 9th grader, are winners of the NAACP Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest:  What is the dream?

MARCI LIKES –Ellington 3rd grade teacher, named Individual Artist winner.
PAUL AND SUZI DUKER-retired QPS educators, winners for Volunteer Leadership.

-KHQA EXCELLENT EDUCATOR

EVELYN HOLLANDER, Intervention Specialist at Baldwin School, was named KHQA’s Excellent Educator for January.

-QJHS 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball Team—State Champions!

JENNIE FRANKS, Berrian and JACKIE STEWART, QHS—National Board Certification!

-QHS GOLF TEAM

QHS Golf Team and Coach Doug Bruner— the team finished third in the Class AA State Championship.  Luke Guthrie won the individual state title.  Following are the team members and their two-day scores:
