Welcome to Baldwin South!
South is proud of the opportunities we offer our families. We are known for our welcoming climate where both children and adults feel safe and nurtured. Likewise, we continuously focus on building a culture of academic success where we rely on best practice research, implement core curriculum with fidelity, and sharpen our professional saws through weekly professional learning community meetings. Our Literacy Coach supports both students and staff through implementation of interventions and facilitating professional development.
We are a Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) school, which means we teach, model, and reinforce specific behavioral expectations across our school. Students look forward to earning SOAR slips they can use to purchase privileges from our school store. Because we know the majority of our students have practiced Covey’s 7 Habits in K-3, we use the 7 Habits language as a means for teaching and reinforcing behavior. Students provide us with feedback for improvement through monthly advisories and surveys. Our PBIS Coach supports both students and staff through implementation of behavioral interventions and facilitating professional development.

It contains current news about South as well as ways to support your child in our school improvement goal area, literacy. We also welcome your input through a feedback box in our South Office.
We cannot succeed, our students will not succeed, if we are not joined with our parents and community in this educational mission. We are forming tomorrow’s leaders today…and it takes all of us to do so. Please stay in communication with your child’s teacher, and I am here for you, also.
