Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood is a collaboration of three programs: Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K), and Early Childhood Special Education. Students qualify through having an economically disadvantaged family income, are at risk of progressing academically, and/or demonstrate a disability. Students must be three years of age by September 1st of the year entering, unless the child has a disability. Children with disabilities are eligible on their third birthday. Early Childhood is located at 401 South 8th. Students attend half-days Monday - Thursday, with an option for a small number of 4-year-olds to attend all day.
- Curriculum emphasizes the following areas: Personal and Social, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Thinking, Social Studies, The Arts, Physical, Life Skills.
