message from the superintendent
Welcome to our new website! I’d like to take a moment to say “thank you” to the many, many people who have been instrumental in allowing us to create our new QPS website. It is still in its infancy, but we thought we would “break it out,” although it is far from a finished product. First of all, I must thank the Quincy Public School Foundation board for being instrumental in helping us with the funding of our new website. It is not a cheap endeavor, but one that has long been overdue. Given the District’s financial struggles of recent, without the QPSF’s help, this project may have not gotten off the ground. I’d also like to thank our business partner in the project, ETC Computerland. They have worked hand in hand every step of the way with the district’s technology department to bring us to this exciting day. Literally, a year’s worth of work has taken place in the last three months—none of it would have been possible without great teamwork. I tip my hat to all of you.
We wanted to launch the site on August 1st, and the time is now. We are far from complete. District staff is currently training on web management and many more teachers and staff members will be trained in the coming days. It is our goal to keep the website current and up to date, make it more user friendly, and greatly expand the amount of school, district, and teacher information presented. We have big dreams and a plan in place to bring you a state of the art website.
I ask that you be patient as we build our site. Feel free to navigate the site these next few months and send us your comments and suggestions. It is for you, our public and loyal supporters. We have just a “tip of the iceberg” completed…the best is yet to come! Thank you.
With Quincy pride,
Lonny B. Lemon
Superintendent
