Special Meeting on the Financial Condition of the District
The Board of Education will meet in special session on Thursday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 109 at the Board of Education Office, 1416 Maine Street. Deb Vespa, Division Administrator with the Illinois State Board of Education, will be here to discuss options to address the School District's deficit. Some of the topics to be discussed include: 1) deficit reduction plan; 2) issuance of working cash bonds; c) referendum to increase tax rates in one or more of the operating funds; d) reduction in staff; e) increase in class size; f) shortened school day; and g) elimination or reduction of non-mandated programs not otherwise funded. This meeting will be in open session and the public is encouraged to attend.
