LINE OF CREDIT

The Board approved a line of credit from Bank of America up to $5 million.  The district has had to borrow money for the past several years in order to meet payroll and other expenses through the end of the fiscal year.  It is a short-term loan and is paid back when state aid and local property tax money is received.  The cash flow shortage is due to accumulative deficit and possible delays in state aid payments.

BOARD RECOGNITION

At last night’s meeting, the Board recognized and thanked QHS journalism students and their teacher Rachel Bergman for the excellent work they have done writing and publishing The Q-Connection.  There have been two issues with one more planned before the end of the school year.  Great job, QHS journalism students!

Baldwin students performed some selections from The Music Man Jr. at the meeting last night for Board members and the audience.  Students performed the play last week at the school.

In other action, the Board approved:

  • Resolution Authorizing Sale of Real Estate at 724 N. 7th and 22415 Hampshire
  • Renewal of IHSA Membership
  • Bids for Storeroom Supplies for the 2006-2007 a total cost of $78,342.98.  This is down from last year’s total of $116,996.13
