February 2006 Issue-Ellington School PTA

***LOVE IS IN THE AIR – A TIME TO REMIND OUR SPECIAL FRIENDS AND FAMILIES HOW MUCH WE CARE***

SPEAKING OF ….  Our ENTIRE Ellington School
Staff, a “Happy Valentine’s Day” to ALL of you!  No matter what part of our child’s school days you are involved in, it creates a great day, everyday for them. You’re the BEST!

CRAFT NIGHT seemed to be a great time for those
who attended. We hope your children enjoyed
making all those neat and crafty items to take home
and enjoy. Thanks for bringing your children and attending this family event together at Ellington School.  And also, THANK YOU Carole Hackett for organizing the event and to all of the great VOLUNTEERS for their time and creativity!!

PARENTS if your child sold candy bars for our
fundraiser and qualified for a prize, we need their
prize sheets turned in with the prize item(s) marked accordingly so that we can “wrap up” this event.  THANKS AGAIN for making this fundraiser so
successful.  With this...

FOUR NEW DELL COMPUTERS have been ordered
for our computer lab, which will allow it to be FULLY functioning. YEH! HOW GREAT IS THAT!!
Thank you PTA for this wonderful purchase.

ROLL THE NIGHT AWAY as February 16th will be our last skating party for the 2005-2006 school year. This event will be from 6:00-8:30 at Scotties’ Skateland.  Bring your children and have one great evening together with their Ellington School friends.

QUINCY GYMNASTICS FUN NIGHT will be Friday, March 3rd from 6:30-9:00 at the Quincy Gymnastic Center, 2010 Jennifer Lane. What a great way for our children to release some of that “excess energy”, and also spend some fun time with their classmates.  More detailed information will follow.  EXERCISE is great for kids!!!

A CHAIRMAN IS NEEDED to host our Science Fair, which will be held Tuesday, March 28th.   We are looking for one or two men to chair this event.  If interested, please call Amy Khalil at 223-0949 or Anne Cashman at 222-5697 for the details.  COME ON DADS, PICK UP YOUR PHONES AND DIAL!!!

THE WIU traveling theatre presented “Little Red Riding Hood” to our students on February 6.  This is just one of many cultural arts events the PTA sponsors throughout the year.  Students from WIU will be at Ellington again on March 31 with “Pipe Line – Music of the Pipe”.

 DATES AND TIMES TO REMEMBER:
February 16th – Scottie’s Skateland from 6:00-8:30
March 3rd – Quincy Gymnastics Fun Night  6:30-9:00
March 28th – Science Fair – ChairMAN (MEN) needed.
