A TIME TO GIVE THANKS FOR OUR FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND ELLINGTON SCHOOL!!!

WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing turnout we had at our Fall Costume Party. We were so happy to see all the families that were able to share the evening with us. It was so much fun to see the students dressed up and having a good time together. And a big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers. Your help was and always is greatly appreciated.

WRAPPING UP OUR Tri-State Fundraiser, there are still many students that haven’t turned in their funds. Please do so as soon as possible so that the prizes may be distributed and also Ellington School will receive its $8,000.00 donation from Tri-State. Thanks again for selling!!!

REFLECTIONS CONTEST: “I Wonder Why?” HAS BEEN EXTENDED until November 18th, there are two entries so far. Once again, our four categories are: Writing, Photography, Art, and Music. Come on boys and girls; let those creative minds think away, and your imagination flow!!

BOOKS RULE!! THE FALL BOOK FAIR WILL SOON BE HERE:  November 14th – 18th, it will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s theme: “Enter the Kingdom of Reading! Where Books Rule!!”  Think of early Christmas shopping for your child, or even a niece or nephew! Our Book Fair is also open to the public so if you have a neighbor or friend who would like to stop in, we encourage them to do so!  Our Book Fair will also be open Tuesday evening, November 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and during...

FAMILY READ NIGHT which will be held from 6:45-8:00 p.m.  Our PTA Meeting will be held that evening starting at 6:15 until Family Read Night begins. Feel free to join us at our bi-monthly PTA Meeting and stay for the event afterward! The theme for Family Read Night will follow the Book Fair’s theme SO, feel free to dress up, children or/and adults and let’s have a fun family evening together. Refreshments will be served during this time.

WHO DOESN’T LIKE CHOCOLATE??? Permission slips should be turned in for our Candy Bar Fundraiser beginning Wednesday, November 16th and concluding November 30th.  For those who are participating remember candy bars make great stocking stuffers and also freeze well to enjoy at a later time. Midnight snack, maybe???

THE WINNING CLASSROOM for most dollars received from Box Tops of Education went to:  Mrs. Miller’s classroom who received glow sticks for Halloween evening and an extra recess!!  Way to go!!

REMEMBER TO KEEP CLIPPING those Box Tops for Education labels and also Hy-Vee brand UPC symbols. We have raised $320.00 in box tops so far, and we will also receive additional funds from the UPC symbols.  What an easy way to make extra $$$$ for our school.  Tyson Project A+ is also coming soon.

YOU’RE GOING TO SCHOOL!!!  Ellington School had an October attendance goal of 97% or better for classrooms, and, there were four who did beat that goal. 1st) Mrs. Miller’s classroom with 98.75%, 2nd) Mrs. Likes’ classroom with 98.20%, 3rd) Mrs. Lunt’s classroom with 98.19%, and 4th) Mrs. CD’ss classroom with 98.15%.  Way to go students, AND parents!!!

YOU BLINKED OR…YOUR HAIR IS STICKING UP…picture retakes are November 17th for those who wish to do so.

NEXT SKATING PARTY AND A CONTEST – The next skating party at Scottie’s Skateland  is November 23rd from 6:00-8:30 p.m. There is a contest this time for students.  The highest attendance for their classroom will receive a pizza party.  So….carpool those classmates and get that pizza party for your child. PIZZA PARTY! YEH!

WHEN YOU VISIT YOUR HY-VEE STORE remember to sign your child’s/school name up for their “Smiles for Education Program.” It’s such an easy way to have a chance for our school to receive additional money thru their weekly drawings, as much as $7,500.00. So…even if you happen to think about it after leaving the store, turn that cart (or car) around and get that entry turned in!!!!
