Shared
Training
Program,
STP, is the name of the
vocational classes offered
through the Center on Wednesday
evenings. These courses have
the same curriculum structure of
the day classes but are offered
from 2:30 to 7:00 for high
school students and adults.
High school Juniors and
Seniors are able to take
advantage of STP when scheduling
vocational education classes
into their day schedule is hard
to do. When students have a
full academic schedule through
the day, or travel into the
Center from the county schools
is not available, they may opt
to take a class on Wednesday
evening. The same eleven
vocational classes that are
offered through the day are also
offered through STP. Students
should contact their high school
counselor for details and
credits awarded through the STP
vocational classes.
Adults wanting to learn new
skills or build upon the skills
they presently have can enroll
in the STP classes to do just
that. Whether you have a job
and want to increase your skill
training, or you are looking to
change careers and need to
develop entry-level skills, the
STP classes will be a good
option for you. Working
side-by-side with other adults
and high school students you
will learn team work skills as
well as receive training that
could lead to an entry level
position in the work force.
Adults that are enrolled in
the Quincy Public School Adult
Education program, may enroll in
the STP training classes that
may meet the requirement of the
Public Aid program. Adults may
enroll in STP classes for the
entire year or take that part of
the course that benefits them
the most in getting the
employment they are looking for.
