History of Student mentoring
The Child-Family Mentor Program was started in 1994 through a Quincy Foundation for Quality Education (QFQE) grant. In 1989 QFQE was created in response to the community's serious commitment to excellence in our public schools. In 2009 QFQE changed its name to the Quincy Public Schools Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to acquire and distribute financial and other resources for the enrichment of academic programs and for other projects aimed at fulfilling the mission of the Quincy Public Schools. Today, the QPS Foundation continues to provide financial support for the program.
