Quincy Public Schools Building Projects

In November 2014, Quincy voters overwhelmingly approved an $89 million bond issue to build five new elementary schools and an expansion for Quincy High School.  The five new elementary schools will house Kindergarten through fifth grades.  The expansion of the High School, which opened in the Fall of 2016, has provided the space necessary to accommodate the freshman class (previously housed at Quincy Junior High).  That shift moved all QPS sixth grade students to Quincy Junior High School; which follows a middle school model.

Work has begun on our first of five new elementary schools on the property behind the current Monroe School.  This site is slated for completion and to be open for use by Fall 2017 - the start of the academic year.  Additional locations include:  12th Street (west of Hamann Lane), 48th Street & Columbus Road, Harrison Street Site (between 30th & 48th), and our current Baldwin School Site.

Construction bids have been accepted for the 12th Street and 48th Street sites.  Work will begin in Spring 2017 for these sites.
