NEW SUPERINTENDENT STEVEN COBB STARTS MONDAY, APRIL 15

Mr. Steven M. Cobb, from Ft. Wayne, IN, will begin his duties as new superintendent of Quincy Public Schools on Monday, April 13, 2013.  Mr. Cobb has been an educator for 36 years.  Since 2010, he has been chief academic officer for the Ft. Wayne Community Schools.  That district serves 32,000 students in 54 schools and employs over 4,000 staff members.

Board members were impressed with Mr. Cobb’s academic credentials and wealth of experience at all levels of education as a teacher and administrator.  Member Mays stated that Cobb is articulate and has an engaging manner. 

Mr. Cobb says he will be reading, learning, and listening.  He wants to know how teachers are teaching and talk to administration, the teachers union, and the business community. He said he has very high expectations for himself and others.
