It’s never too early to start searching for scholarships! Scholarships can be based on several different criteria such as financial need, GPA/grades, volunteer work, leadership, or a really good essay. Check your college/university’s website for specific institutional scholarships.
Below are some yearly scholarships separated by the month they are due. Note that some scholarships might not be open yet if it is still early in the school year. Many local scholarships are not available or updated until 2nd semester. Scholarships specific to Quincy High are listed below. Please check the link for the most up-to-date information.

The Gates Scholarship
Minority student that has financial need. At least 3.3 GPA.
“No Sweat” Scholarship
Available for grades 9-12. Deadlines vary through school year.

AES Engineering Scholarship
Based on character and essay entry. Not just for engineering students only.
DAR Good Citizenship Scholarship Contest
Student who exemplifies dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Personal outline, transcript, and timed essay required. See Amy McCleery in the Counseling Office for details!
November
Elks National Foundation Scholarship
Based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Applications open in August.
NHS Scholarship
Must be a graduating senior in good standing with NHS.
December
National Space Club
Intent to pursue career in STEM field.
Adams Electric Cooperative Scholarships
Must be child of Adams Electric Cooperative member. Several scholarships with various due dates.
Equitable Excellence Scholarship
Senior students who work hard to make a positive impact on their communities. Applications open in October.
Hagan Scholarship Foundation
3.5 GPA, Need, and merit-based.
“No Sweat” Scholarship
Available for grades 9-12. Deadlines vary through school year.
American College Foundation Visionary Scholarship Program
Available for freshman-seniors in high school. Awarded Bi-annually.
The Coolidge Scholarship
Open to High school Juniors pursuing any major at a 4-year college or University.
January
DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) General Scholarship Applicaiton
Must be a Senior. Merit and Need based.
FFA Scholarships
Active FFA member. Intent to study in qualifying field. 2.5 GPA minimum.
John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest
Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917.
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship
Must be graduating minority senior.
John Wood Community College Presidential Scholarship
Open to High School Seniors.
Timberline Billing Services Scholarship
Student must have been on an IEP at some point during their Middle/High school years. Does not have to be currently.
William H. Klingner (WHK) Land Surveying Scholarship
For students entering a 2-year or 4-year land surveying program.

CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Scholarship
Provides monetary awards for top high school seniors statewide.
Hollister Whitney Scholarship
Open to students pursuing a vocational or technical education.

JWCC Trail Blazer Scholarship (LOCAL)
Trail Blazer Scholars will be part of JWCC’s Student Government Association (SGA), plan activities, and serve as ambassadors for the JWCC student body.
Patricia & Leonard Kramer Memorial Scholarship (LOCAL)
Adams County High School student. 2.8 minimum GPA. Active in School and Community. Also available in the Counseling Secretary’s office.
Dr. Michael K. Ouwenga Scholarship (LOCAL)
Minimum 3.5 GPA. Pursuing a Healthcare related field. Paper Application.
Ursa Farmers Coop Scholarship (LOCAL)
For students who will be incoming college freshman for the 2025-2026 school year.
Quinsippi Yacht and Quincy Boat Club Scholarship (LOCAL)
Must have completed at least 1 year of QAVTC classes.
Quincy Federation of Teachers Local 809 (LOCAL)
Must be the child of a QF Local 809 member with a B average.
Jacksonville Rotary Club – SSG Matthew Weikert Scholarship
$1000 to seniors who will be attending Vocational School, Technical School, Community College, or other institution of higher learning.
Horatio Alger Scholarship Program
Various Scholarships. Scholarships available for Juniors and Seniors in high school.
J. L Wade Foundation Scholarship
For students perusing a degree that promotes the study of nature and the preservation of the environment.
Prairieland FS, Inc. Scholarship
For students perusing a career in agriculture.
AMVETS Service Foundation
Various scholarships for Veterans, Nursing students, current High school seniors who are child/grandchild of a Veteran or active duty military member.
US Military Veterans and Children
Various scholarships. Must be active duty or child of a Veteran or active duty military member.
U of I- Urbana-Champaign Alpha Alumni Chapter Beta Sigma Psi
Must be a Christian male freshman attending UIUC.
Beta Sigma Psi Educational Foundation
Must be a member of the Lutheran community. Several scholarships with deadlines.
Illinois Elks Association Children’s Care Program
For Physical and Occupational Therapy majors.
Lydia Miller Special Education Scholarship
Student pursuing a special education degree.
The Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship Award
Personal statements, recommendations, and tax forms required. Based on financial need and Scholastic ability.
Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship
For office professional, secretarial, or business-related field. Priority given to those attending UIUC.

BBB’s Student of Ethics Award
Must be a high school junior graduating in Spring 2026. recognizes exceptional high school students who demonstrate high ethics through leadership, community service, academic history and overall personal integrity.
Western Chapter ISPE Engineering Scholarship
Student pursuing a special engineering degree.
Ada Mucklestone Memorial Scholarship
Must be a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a veteran who serve during WWI or anytime after December 7, 1941.
American Legion National Scholarships
Multiple scholarships available.

Class of 1957 Scholarship (LOCAL)
Merit based. 3.5 GPA minimum. Return application to the Counseling Secretary’s office.
Becky Swisher Crowe Memorial Scholarship (LOCAL)
Intent to pursue a degree in Education and have a financial need. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Return application to the Counseling Secretary’s office.
