The Quincy Public School District #172 Board of Education has contracted with School Exec Connect, an educational search firm, to assist with the search for a new district superintendent. The Board of Education wants you to be informed of the process that we will be following as we conduct the search. To begin our search, the School Exec Connect consultants, Ms. Diane Robertson and Dr. Edward Olds have met with Board Members and are developing a list of the desired skills and characteristics that are important in the next superintendent. Staff and community members may give input to this process through a confidential on-line survey that will be announced by the District and hosted on the district website.
This information will be used to advertise the position, recruit, and screen candidates. The consultants will review applications and recommend four to six applicants who are highly qualified for the superintendent’s position. The Board will interview the recommended candidates and narrow the field to two to three finalists. Board, staff and community members will be involved in the interview process. After selecting the finalist, the Board anticipates conducting a site visit to the candidate’s home district. It is anticipated that a contract will be offered to a new superintendent in the fall of 2012.
