NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE FOR
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 172, ADAMS COUNTY, ILLINOIS
(commonly known as Quincy Public Schools)
I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax increase for School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, for 2022 will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 6:00 o’clock p.m. at 1416 Maine St., Room 214, Quincy, Illinois.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for the year 2021 were $32,640,568.
The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2022 are $34,919,748. This represents a 6.98% increase over the previous year.
III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2021 were $7,794,398.
The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2022 are $7,953,273. This represents a 2.04% increase over the previous year.
IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2021 were $40,434,966.
The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2022 are $42,873,021. This represents a 6.03% increase over the previous year.
